Lola Update

Thank you so much for all of your prayers for her first off, I truly think they are being answered. We saw the pediatric neurologist today and from the looks of the CT Scan they did a couple of weeks ago, he does not think that this will be something that effects Lola in the future. He thinks that there will never been an explanation for why she has a small piece of her brain missing - could be that something happened in-utero or that blood vessels did not form correctly in that part of her brain or that she could have possibly even had a stroke at some point - but that it doesn't matter. Babies brains develop so quickly that she has probably already made up for that part missing. As long as it is just that one part, she will be fine and there is no cause for concern. She does have to have an MRI done on her brain, as it will show more than a CT Scan does. He is hopeful that that one part is the only thing that is wrong with her. So more waiting for us, the MRI probably won't be for a couple more weeks. Thanks again to everyone who has been asking about her, I will keep you posted.
On another note...Lola's first tooth has broke through on the bottom left side! How exciting! She is getting so big, so fast!

Little Lola

Lola is now eating real foods (well, baby food) in her high chair! She is so proud of herself and can almost sit up on her own, so she loves being in that chair...for more than one reason! She does this thing where she puts her head to the side and looks at you sideways and cracks this little smile, I caught it on camera today and wanted to share!

...I have to admit that he looks pretty darn cute! He loves his mohawk more than anyone!!! Lola continues to admire her brother as well...even with hair like that!

Happy 6th Months Lola!

Oh...how time flies! Can't believe little Lola is already six months old! She doesn't have her well check until the 26th of this month, so I will fill everyone in on her height and weight then. She did have her ears checked today and they are clear, probably just tugging at them because she is teething! But with her having the infection almost two weeks ago, I would rather be safe than sorry, so they checked them! We are going to try switching back to soy formula too. They said that we would know in a couple of days whether or not she will tolerate it...I forgot how much it stinks! But I will take the stink over the cost of the nutramigen any day! Will just have to get used to it again! Cross your fingers that it works! I will be crossing them, along with my toes!

Things are good...

So now that school started I feel like I have neglected my blog...so sorry! I have been up to my eyeballs in schoolwork and have had no time to do anything else but it! So far the year has been great...it is always hard meeting new kids for me, I get so attached to the previous ones, it is hard to start all over. So if you are an old student that stops by this blog every once in a while - know this - YOU ARE MISSED!
As far as little Lola goes, she has an appointment on the 20th of this month to find out what is, or isn't, wrong with her head. It is an appointment that I am both looking forward to and dreading. Hopefully they will be able to give us some sort of answer as to what is going on.
Both Kyan and Lola are adjusting well to daycare, we are lucky to have Rennie still watching them!
We are spending the weekend at home, with much catching up to do on the house work and laundry - we got back to the house on Tuesday night with our air working again! Thanks so much to Frank and Frank for quickly getting it fixed for us and to Chrissy for playing phone tag so that they could come to fix the air! You all were lifesavers!

When it rains, it pours...

Oh...what a week, not one I ever want to repeat or wish upon anyone! As far as Lola goes, she is doing wonderful, back to her normal self, with a bit of a cold! I got into see a pediatric neurologist on August 20th. Her pediatrician's office said they would push to get her in sooner, but I am not holding my breath. I was on the phone most of the morning on Friday, in between meetings for school, playing phone tag and trying to get names of neurologists, so I took the appointment on the 20th and called it a day. I was too drained to keep trying. My friend Kristen and my father-in-law Michael both helped me hunt down some names. Ok, so if that wasn't bad enough dealing with all of Lola's "stuff", our A/C decides to quit working on Friday night. I had a mini nervous breakdown and left Chad to make all of the decisions concerning it and getting it fixed. Poor thing, then when I try to help it just makes matters worse! Needless to say, our compressor completely locked up and quit on us, so as soon as we get the part, we are good. It is the waiting part so that we don't have to pay a lot of money. We have great friends who are helping us out. So while our house is hot, my in-laws have helped us out and we are crashing at thier place until it gets fixed! So thankful for family! Asking for Prayers

So I normally am not the type of person that asks for this, but we had a bit of a scare last night...Lola fell off the bed. She was taken to Banner Estrella Hospital by ambulance and treated there. Chad called me on the way home from school last night (we had open house) and said to meet him there. They ran a ct scan to make sure everything was ok. She had vomited and was acting drowsy right after it happened, prompting Chad to call, and they thought they had better run the scan to be safe. Good news is that she has not been injured by the fall was showing no signs that were a cause for concern. After the initial getting there and her being scared, she was back to the same old smiley Lola before we left! Along with the good news, came some bad, and was a cause for concern. They said that with the technology today, they did see something, but what it is exactly they don't know. They found a 3 mm spot on her brain that they said could be from an old fall (she hasn't ever fallen before) or something from when she was born that went undetected, a brain hemorrhage, or it could be nothing. So we left the hospital with a very uneasy feeling in our stomaches not having a clear cut answer. I have to take her to the pediatrician today where I will get a referral to see a neuro specialist. Hopefully they will be able to give us more answers. As I know more, I will keep updating, but in the meantime, I am asking for prayers for Lola in the hopes that she will be ok from whatever this little dot on her brain might be.
