Last night after Chad got home from work, I went to meet up with the girls from work at Margaritaville! It was a nice little break from taking care of Lola all day! Plus it was just good to get out for some social time! Lots of talk about the students we teach, but also just nice to get to hang with all these fabulous women and not have to talk about all the stuff that happens at school! Thanks Angela for organizing the event! I did cut out early when the rest of the girls went to Saddle Ranch, but those two hours were great!
So, not only did I want to get up at 4:45 for Lola's appointment on Friday, I told Rae Lynn that I would help her with her garage sale today! She lives in Surprise, so I had another 4:45 morning again today! We had an ok selling day, made about $75, and got rid of a lot of CRAP!!! She hauled what we didn't sell to charity! The only thing I held onto were the girl clothes, as I have a friend that might want to go through all of Lola's stuff! What she doesn't want will also be donated! When we were laying out the girl clothes table I was shocked to see all of Lola's clothes! I have a disease...can't help but shop for her! Love having a girl to dress, it is so fun!

Biggest Loser once again!!!
So I had to weigh in one day early this week because of Lola getting her tubes in today and I still managed to pull off the biggest loser crown this week! Haven't been "it" in awhile so that was a nice suprise email and text from Kristen that I read!
Total weight down according to the school scale = 20.2lbs
Total weight down according to the scale at home (first thing in the morning, naked) = 23.1lbs
Good job to all of those out there trying to lose weight this time around! Can't believe the results that I am seeing! I love it! Wedding ring was goal number 1 of these first 8/9 weeks of dieting (sorry, life style change) and goal number 2, by summer, was to get into the bin of clothes that have been waiting to get into since I got pregnant with Lola, and what do you know? I have pulled several pairs of pants and shorts from that bin already and they are fitting great, and it is only week 7 (I think it is week 7, maybe 8?)!

TUBE-A-LICIOUS!
Lola got her tubes this morning bright and early! We had to be at John C. Lincoln Hospital at 5:45, so we left the house around 5 to make sure we had enough time to get parked and checked in! Lola was the youngest patient on the surgery list this morning, so she was the first patient!
She had a bit of a rough night (is very good and sleeps through the night almost always - so this was out of the ordinary) and usually a bottle or medicine helps her get back to sleep, but not last night! She was up from about midnight until 3 am, just crying :( She must have sensed that something was happening to her today. Funny how babies just know sometimes.
Once we got back to the room, she was fussy off and on, I am chalking that up to lack of sleep though! We waited to talk to the doctors and nurse before they took her back, which was right at 7:02. They said, we'll see you in about 10 minutes - the doctor will come out and talk to you right after surgery. Hard to believe that in just those 10 minutes so much relief was given to Lola's little ears! Literally 10 minutes later (I checked the time 7:12) Dr. Osborne was out in the waiting room telling us that she had a lot of "stuff" in her ears and that her right ear had a pseudo membrane formed on it and that he just scraped it right off! He said her ears looked great now!
Within seconds of him going back to operate on the next kiddo, the nurse was calling me back to be with Lola while she recovered. We were back there for about 5 minutes and we were released! Fussy baby and all. So sad to see her be so helpless and confused, but at least I knew what to expect this time around since it was her 2nd time with the anesthesia. As soon as we got to the car and drove a little ways she was out the whole way home and went right into sleepy times in her crib!
Thank you Grandma Donna for helping us out this morning and going with us! Also, thank you to Auntie Rae for offering to have Kyan spend the night with all his cousins (even though they were all asleep when he got there!) Hopefully some playing time will be had this morning before I go to get him! And, thank you to everyone for the offers to help out these past two crazy weeks of our lives! Although I have only taken up some of you, the offers mean just as much!

And the ENT Specialist says...
...TUBES! He took one look in her ears and said that without a doubt, she NEEDS them. She has had too many and the severity of her infections has worn her poor little ears out. They need to get in there and clean everything out. It is almost like the top layer (on the inside, not exactly sure what it is called) has worn away, leaving almost like a burning sensation when she gets infections, or like when you have an infection on your skin, it takes away that top layer.
Because of how bad they are, he pushed for surgery, ASAP. Normally it takes a couple of weeks to get them in, but he wants it done now, so Lola will more than likey have tubes put in her ears this Friday! It is a 10 minute procedure and recovery is pretty quick, however, she will have to be put under. This is not new to Lola, as she had an MRI and was put under a little after 7 months. That will be the hardest part, as it is so sad to see her come out of the anesthesia. Nothing worse than a crying baby, and you can't do anything about it. I just want this done and over with and then hopefully we will have fewer issues with her ear infections.
Any advice from mommies that have had babies with tubes would be greatly appreciated!

"I wanna be just like Daddy!"
So after we returned Daytona to her rightful owner, Brion, we stopped to walk around at the Farmers Market on Northern and the 101! They set up there once a month on the third Saturday and I wanted to get the kids out into some fresh air. There was a little tent with these tattoos - they had little hummingbirds and I had to buy them for Kyan (he sports the fake tattoos quite frequently, none that have ever been this cool!) He was so excited to put one on his arm, "just like daddy!" They have a website called japashion.com where you can check stuff out! Some of it is really fun!
LOOOOOOOOOOONG Night
Brion got to go home from the hospital yesterday! That was about the only good thing that happened. Chad started feeling crappy and Lola has had a cough that won't stop - so does everyone else at the sitters. Around 2:30 am, Chad is shaking uncontrollably and coughing like crazy and Lola has woken herself up from coughing, and coughing, and coughing. I felt bad for Chad, but he doesn't let me help him when he is sick, so I moved onto Lola, who I couldn't get to stop. I took her to Good Night Pediatrics to see what they could do. It was that or wait until today to try and battle the long wait at an Urgent Care or the ER, and since I was already up, we went. We only had one person in front of us so we didn't wait long. The nurse said that she was running a little fever - 100.3 and then went to take her Oxygen count that she had trouble reading because Lola was CRYING! I was trying to comfort her, singing and all, but when she threw her piggy on the ground, the nurse was just mean and was like, "No look what you did, you don't have your animal anymore." Not, "Oh, let's stop and try to call her down and then get a count again". She was just really mean. If you are a nurse to young children, you should know how to try and comfort them, not just be mean to them.
So we were shooed into a room to see the doctor who has the nerve to come in and ask me why Lola is so grouchy. Are you kidding me? Duh, she is sick and can't get any rest so she is crabby and crying, plus she doesn't really like doctors because she is so used to them poking and prodding her, she doesn't know any better. Plus, I was there to find out what was wrong with her, not vice versa. Anyway, I said that she was tired at the beginning of me telling him that she wouldn't stop coughing and he says that we all are it is 3:30 in the morning. Ok, whatever. He says that they are going to do a breathing treatment and then he would write a prescription for some antibiotics.
For the mommies that do breathing treatments for their children, you know how hard this is. They are supposed to wear a mask that is connected to a machine that makes LOUD noise. Scary. Especially for a little baby. I had to hold her with one arm, restricting her hands from moving the mask away from her face, the other hand was forced to smash the mask upto her face and move with her face when she did. She cried through the entire thing and it was aweful. No one helped me and I felt like the worlds worst mommy. One of the hardest things I have had to do.
We then went and picked up her medicine and headed home around 5:30 this morning, where thankfully she went right back to sleep until now! She is still coughing like crazy, but at least she was able to rest.

Kyan's Visit to the Hospital
Kyan (and bear) went to visit Grandpa B last night! Because Brion has such a high risk of getting sick or infection, Kyan (and bear) had to wear a mask! Kyan delivered his cards that he made at Rennie's for his grandpa, was able to say the Pledge of Allegiance, and sing America the Beautiful to help cheer him up! We are not sure how long Brion has to stay in the hospital, but it was a nice change for him to see Kyan and we are hoping that it made him feel a little bit better!

It was so nice to be able to attend Todd and Heather Kelley's special day, and I got to spend a nice evening alone with my husband, as my parents played babysitter! Thanks so much mom and dad for watching our little munchkins!Heather was able to give Todd the book of pictures that I took of her for him, every time I was around Todd that evening he couldn't stop thanking me! I was so flattered and excited that he loved them so much! Couldn't have been too hard, Heather is such a beautiful person both inside and out! Whats not to love?

Daddy decided to give Lola a chocolate covered pretzel. When she started to get it all over his clothes, he made me take it away! Needless to say, Lola was very upset!This is the book that I made for Jayla from Lola, it may not be meaningful right now to her or Lola, but one day I hope that they can both look back on it and smile and appreciate their friendship! I was crying as I was making it, crying when I was finished making it, crying when Susie opened it for Jayla! Not only was it a book for Jay, it was a book for Susie and some of the quotes are meant just as much for her as they are for Jay.
You see, Susie has always been "Chad's friend", she was always the girl that got to hang with the boys that I was always jealous of, that I could not hang out with them, but she could! Don't get me wrong, she has been my friend too, but I would just say a friend. Throughout our pregnancies together and our daughters growing up this first year, I feel like they have brought us so much closer together and I can trust Susie with anything! So yes, this book is for you too Sue, thank you for being a best friend to me! I feel like you are "my friend" now, not the other way around. I value our friendship and I hope that one day our girls will be able to do the same thing!

Happy 1st Birthday Lola!!!
Oh, my baby is 1! Can't believe how time flies! I can remember heading into the hospital with extremely painful contractions just a year ago and now she is already a year old! It is so fun to have a little girl in my world and it keeps it even in the family with my two video game playing boys!
Lola...
...is a jabber jaw and talks non stop, especially on the ride to Rennie's in the morning! She always has something to say!
...is crawling like a mad women and can get to where she wants to go way too quick, and she is standing and holding on to everything and walking around all of our furniture! She will be walking in no time, although I am not in any sort of hurry for that!
...started on whole milk last night and it must have filled her belly really good, because I had to wake her up this morning after 7 so that I could go to work. Usually it is the opposite, we have to wake Kyan up, one of Lola's favorite things to do as she gives her brother so little love smacks to get him to wake up, but today, Kyan and I woke her up by singing "happy birthday" to her!
...is wanting less and less to do with her bottle and loves to drink out of a straw! She has her own little Munchkin brand sippy cups that she loves ice water in! I am going to try to start the milk in it and work on getting rid of the bottle all together!
...LOVES her big brother, Kyan keeps her busy at night so that I can get some treadmill time in! She follows him around the house like a little puppy dog, it is so cute! I love watching the two of them grow together!
...is a mama's girl, although she is becoming quite fond of her daddy these days! She loves watching him play video games with Kyan and will try to help him out with the computer game!
...is DRAMA, but we love her anyway!!!

Still Infected
I just got the mommy gut feeling that the antibiotics hadn't worked from the last post that I had made about her ears and called the doc yesterday to see if she could be seen. She has her one year check up on Friday, but Friday is a long ways away when it comes to babies and their ears. We got Lola in after school and sure enough, her right ear is still infected. So a new set of antibiotics was given (the same thing happened at her last ear infection in November I think, Amoxicillan didn't work so they had to give her Omnicef to get rid of the infection). She has an appointment with the specialist on Monday the 16th to see what is going on with her ears and to see about tubes. Honestly, I want them to do tubes so that this whole ear infection thing goes away. Seems like Lola ALWAYS has one and then I feel like a bad mom that my kid is always sick.
I will keep everyone posted as to how that appointment goes when we know!

Don't even know what to say?
Chad is out for a night on the town and rocking a new look! What does everybody think? I think it looks totally sexy and I wish he was staying home with that mustache and chops!NOT!
He looks ridiculous! It took him almost 45 minutes to groom himself for the groom to be - Todd Kelley tonight! It is his bachelor party and Chad is going all out just for him!
Kyan's Birthday Party - Only 2 Weeks Late
We celebrated Kyan's birthday this year at Peter Piper Pizza! It was on Tuesday and planned very last minute, seems like this is how I do it these days, as Lola's birthday is next week and I haven't done anything for it yet! (Yes, you will be getting a call soon - but will be nothing fabulous for her either!)
Anywho, Kyan couldn't have cared less what day of the week it was on or who could and couldn't make it! He had a blast with his cousins, Michelle, Mason, Gage, and Sage, his friends, Steven, Daniel, Jayla, and Avery! Of course the kids' parents were there with them: Susie and Jearel, Rae Lynn, Camille and Brandon, and Angela, and Ryan! Grandpa and Grandma Moffitt made the speical day too!
The cutest story that came out of that night was right after Kyan blew out his candles. I reminded him that he needed to make a wish after he blew out his candle, forgetting that he would just blurt it out loud. This is where he clenched his fists together, closed his eyes and said, "I wish to be a real boy!" When he said real boy, he opened his eyes like he had just seen the light! We were all laughing because it might have been one of the cutest things he has ever said and it came out of nowhere, he got a little embarressed, but I tried to assure him that that was a great wish and that he did a good job! He is so sensitive!

Once again, we trekked over to Chad's dad's house for a long day of celebration! It is a tradition to watch the big game at Brion's house each year - this year was that much more special because our very own Arizona Cardinals were battling the Steelers! This was one that will go down in the books as the most fun Superbowl party of them all! Great company, great food, and great football! Our Cardinals gave it their very best and almost pulled off a victory!
It was a so nice to see how many people turned out - it was important to Brion, as well as us! This is the one time each year where everyone comes together! Thanks so much to our close friends and family that made the day with us!!!
