Family Pics

So I was able to get a few family photos today courtesy of Rae Lynn before my camera died! She was off camera duty today, as she has been so busy with photo shoots lately, but I begged her to snap a few! They turned out really cute and we might have even captured our Christmas card picture! Yay! She is going to edit some of them with her new program (that I am going to have to have), but here they are for now! You also get to check out the new hair do! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with their family and friends!

Mommy Made

So I have been wanting Lola to start wearing some headbands, but the ones you find in the store are just really not cute. I haven't tried any boutiques because I don't have one close to me, so I can't say that I have looked everywhere, but, where I have looked - no likey! I looked online at ordering some, but I really wanted one for her to wear for Thanksgiving, so I knew that it wouldn't be here fast enough. In looking at them online, it didn't seem like they would be all that difficult to make, and I called my sister-in-law Rae Lynn for reassurance! After talking to her I set out to make Lola one last night and I LOVE it! Now I am going to make more, knowing that I can do it! Last nights was my practice one and I was crossing my fingers in hopes that it would turn out! I already have orders to make some for my friends' girls! More pics to come of this actually on her head!

Just in case you feel inspired to make these they are really easy. It takes about 10 minutes!
*Measure head and cut elastic to fit
*Sew together ends (I tried to hand sew and it worked ok, but I broke the needle? So ended up using the brad fasteners that I used to put the flowers on to hook the two sides together! Kinda ghetto I know, but until I get a sewing machine, that is going to have to be how it goes!)
*Pluck your flowers off of stems (you can also buy flowers that are in a container, but if you buy the fake flowers by the bundle, you get a little bit more variety.)
*Stick brad fastener through the middle of the flower (you could also hot glue, my glue gun is just at school, so I didn't have it. The brad fasteners do not hurt or leave marks on babies head, but I didn't make the elastic tight, they probably will if I still have her wearing this when she is 12!)

Cooking with Kyan

Kyan LOVES cooking dinner with me! Any chance that he gets he is right there by my side, mixing ingredients, wanting to cut things, and even trying to help put pans in the oven! He is such a good helper! I find that he eats dinner better too if he helped to make it! In the picture we are making Chicken Crescent Rolls! They are a recipe off the website that Rae Lynn started (also a link from my blog!) Just in case you feel like making them - here it is!
***This recipe makes 16 rolls, so if you are just cooking for your smaller family, it is ok to just half everything!

Chicken Crescents

8 ounces of Cream Cheese, Softened
4 Tablespoons of Butter, Melted
4 Cups cooked, cubed chicken
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Pepper
5 Tablespoons Milk
2 Tablespoons Onion, Chopped
2 8-oz. Can Refrigerated Crescent Rolls
2 Tablespoons Melted Butter
2 Cups Seasoned Croutons, Crushed

Blend cream cheese and butter. Add chicken, salt, pepper, milk, and onion. Mix well. Spoon 1/4 cup mixture near base of triangle and roll up crescent style. Brush each roll with melted butter and sprinkle on crouton crumbs. Place on an un-greased baking sheet and bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Frank and Chrissy's Last Hoorah!

The Wedding Party - well, most of them!

Yesterday was a LONG day, but we had so much fun! From baby shower (which I am hoping to steal some pictures off of Camille's blog since I didn't bust out the camera) to wedding party! Michael hijacked my camera and played paparazzi for the night (THANK YOU!) so I was actually in some pictures! It was so nice to hang out with everyone - especially Candis and Susie, as we are all mommies now and don't get to "go out" anymore all together, shoot even separate for that matter! We cut loose and had a great time, in celebration of Frank and Chrissy's last weekend as an engaged couple! We will all be together again next weekend for the wedding and I am really looking forward to it!

Thug baby

Lola usually refuses anything on her little head, however, she LOVED this hoodie that her auntie Susie got her! Jayla spotted the birdie on it and knew her bff Lola had to have it! Thank you!

A little snip here...

and a little snip there...and THEY are on!!!! Been dying to get these on Lola's feet, but they were just too tight for her Fred Flinstone feet, so i cut the elastic on each side just a little and WAAAALAAAA! I love them! Thank you Creel Crew for spotting these long before Camden was born! Hopefully she can wear hers soon and they can match!

Together again!

Susie, Jerrel (I never know if I spell that right - in fact I think that I spell it different every single time), and Jayla joined us for dinner last night! Susie had to drop off some garage sale stuff, so we decided to make a family date out of it! Lola and Jayla were reunited after too long from seeing each other! Jayla tried kissing Lola, while Lola tried playing with Jayla's earrings and head! They are so fun to watch together! Next time we'll have to try getting together a little sooner in the evening, both girls were ready for bed towards the end, Lola especially. She was cranky pants!
We made dinner for the Garrett Family. We had this really tasty chicken, asparagus, and rolls! Kyan helped prepare everything and spent a good half and hour in the kitchen getting everything prepared! He even got his hands dirty! If anyone is looking for a new chicken recipe, that is SUPER EASY read below:

Corn Flake Crusted Chicken
(ok, so that isn't the official name, but I thought that it sounded good)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

1 cup crushed Corn Flakes
1 cup Parmesan Cheese
1 packet Ranch Dressing Seasoning Mix
*Mix together*
In a small dish on the side melt 1/2 stick butter

Take thawed chicken breast, dip both sides in butter, then in mixture on both sides, place in casserole dish. Mixture makes approximately 6-8 chicken breasts. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes.

Lola's New Toy

After Kyan's T-ball game on Saturday, we stopped by the new Super Target and splurged on a new walker for Lola. She was getting tired of bouncing I think. The bouncer is going to hopefully go to good use at Camden's house! Lola loved walking around in this - especially backwards. She is slowly getting the whole forward walking thing...it looks like she is hopping in it, because she uses both feet at the same time to go forward!

Fun with Grandparents Nebraska

Swimming @ their pool - the kids loved it because it's heated!!! Lola cried going in, not sure about the pool at first (it's been awhile since she has been swimming), but she soon found that splashing everything, including herself, was a blast! Kyan loved playing with both grandma and grandma and even found some time to catch us some dinner with his new fishing pole!

Lola managed to get herself stuck underneath the couch while playing around on the rug! She didn't care though - she kept on smiling!

So happy!

New Hat + Gloves = Happiness for Kyan

Went to Target the other night to get some winter clothes for Kyan. He spotted gloves (not shown) that had the fingers cut off the top of them, and he thought they were the coolest things in the world and this great hat! He is always freezing in the mornings, so hopefully these will help!

A Sucker and a Screamer!!!

Above pictures show Lola's new way to communicate - SCREAMING! It is hilarious and she does it constantly. Kyan will scream/screech back at her and they have full on conversations!

Pictures below are what happens when you dig through your son's halloween candy and find a sucker for your baby to try out! She loved that sucker and was furious when I took it away after about 30 seconds! It was good while it lasted!
