Trick-OR-Treat

Kyan: Skeleton, daddy painted his face so that he didn't have to wear a mask all night - very nice! He was complimented all night (and learned a new word at the same time)!

Trick-OR-Treat!

I feel like Kyan finally got Halloween this year! He was running from house to house and was so excited to say "Trick-or-Treat"!

This was the first year that my parents have celebrated Halloween with us! My mom was feeling sad for all the trick-or-treaters that make their way to her house every year (she gives out the best stuff and counts the kids every year too!) for just a second, but then took a look at her 2 grandbabies and forgot about them back home! We loved being able to celebrate with them! My dad even got in the spirit and bought a wig, pick included with his big 'fro!

Lola on the hunt for CANDY! When the neighbors let her pick out candy, I had to monitor her grabbing skills, she would keep taking if they let her! "More, more, more," was a phrase that continued to come out of her mouth all night!

Potty Time!

I am that mother that takes a picture of her kid on the potty chair.

Today was a big day at the Roseland house! Lola went potty on her potty chair for the first time! Not bad for a 21 month old! There was a reason for placing her on their, so here goes...

Yesterday, I woke her up in the morning and got her ready for Rennie's. We have our routine in the morning, as I am sure we all do, and changing her diaper is the first thing we do. Most of the time it is wet, so, I change it and go on about our getting ready. Well, back to yesterday. I changed her like usual and not 2 minutes after we get downstairs, Lola tells me, "I poop!" I thought to myself, you have got to be kidding me, I just changed you and we are ready to go and you pooped! She didn't poop, just peed, but it got me thinking that she must pee right away in the morning (kinda like most people do) so I will try tomorrow to see if I can catch it. So when I woke her up this morning, I sat her happy little butt on the chair and waited. I looked away at something Kyan was doing and sure enough I hear her potty chair start to sing ('cause I was hoping that would be motivation)?! No way, she pushed the button? Or did she pee? She got up off her chair and what do I see before my eyes? Yep, you guessed it, PEE! We (Kyan, Lola, and myself) celebrated and were so proud of our little lady!

I know not to count my chickens before they hatch, and I might have just got really lucky, but it is a start! Not bad for the first time putting her on the chair! Here is to more time going potty on the potty chair!

Fun Times at the Puh-kin Patch!

Today we met our friends, The Creels, at the pumpkin patch! The Garretts were supposed to be there too, but poor little Jayla was feeling under the weather so they had to stay home. We sure did miss them.
What a fun (and rather warm) morning we had chasing the kiddos around!
We love our time that we get to spend with Michael, Candis, and Camden...although next time we see them, less chasing, more visiting!

First adventure of the pumpkin patch ~ Horse Ride!
Kyan was a little nervous at first, but loved it after about 3 seconds!

A favorite at the pumpkin patch is the animals! This time you got to use the grinder to make the food for them! Kyan was in heaven!

Train time!!!
In an earlier post I mentioned that today Kyan displayed what a great big brother he is!
Lola was dying to ride on the train too, just like big brother, but we thought that maybe the first time she should sit with him (this was after Chad tried climbing in and couldn't fit). Of course she was going to want to be in charge the second she sat down, and he just let her! He put his arm around her, to protect her from climbing out, but also, to comfort her if she was too scared. She loved the first go around and Kyan was promised another trip, by himself, for being so helpful!

The second time around the train ride did NOT go as smooth. Kyan of course did just fine, but once the train left the station, Lola was a wreck. Big brother was there to save the day again when the driver asked if this was his sister and could she hop in with him. He graciously said yes, but she was having none of it and I grabbed her (I was chasing the train, as I figured this might happen) and let Kyan enjoy 5 minutes to himself!

She was trying to take her clothes off in the corn?! Not really sure why, maybe it was itching her, but I had to tell her more than once to quit it!



So for just a few dollars, you could launch tomatoes into the field! The boys had fun!
