Walk for Education

On Saturday I walked with fellow teachers (including my friends from the 8th grade that I teach with and their girls) to hand out flyers and promote the tax override on the ballot for this election. We walked around the neighborhood and hung door flyers on the doors of registered voters. It was a great way to spend time with my friends, get in some exersize (it was hot and yes we did sweat), and promote education for our district! It was a fun morning.

By the end of our walk, Lola was crashed out!!!

Can't take the credit

My aunt Heidi made me a pre-made scrapbook for my baby shower with spots to put pictures in. It is only 7 months later, but I finally got pictures printed off to make this book complete! I love it and I think that it turned out so cute! When I was done putting it together tonight, I sat down with Kyan and went through all of the pictures with him! He was curled up so close to and had a big grin on his face the whole time we looked at the book! He told me how much he loved our family, just making my heart melt! Thank you aunt Heidi for helping make our memories look so pretty!

For Candis and Auntie Marcia

So both of these shirts that Lola is sporting were gifts given to her by her "auntie" Candis (Roxy T) and her great aunt Marcia (Me T) when Lola was first born - little did I know that they would be fitting her already! They are 12 and 18 months! However, they do...and I think she looks cute as a button in both! Thank you for making her look so stylish!

Sleeping Beauties

I love bedtime! This is my chance to get in some much needed mommy/baby snuggle time while the boys play their video games. We have such a routine at this house. After dinner, Lola usually wants a bottle so her and I retreat to the bedroom, where I get caught up on all of my shows (tv is good right now - too many things to watch!) while the boys bond in the living room. She enjoys her bottle and usually falls asleep right around 7 and sleeps from about 7pm to about 5:30/6am! For not being a schedule crazy mom - my kids sure are on a pretty good schedule - not on purpose, just sort of worked in my favor! I couldn't ask for better little munchkins!!!

Kyan on the other hand is on daddy's watch and heads to bed at about 9pm after all his game playing and movie watching! (I can't wait for it to start cooling down here at night so we can head to the park and be outside more). He has to have a little something to drink right before he falls asleep and reminds you every night that he wants the hall light on and the door open! He is a great sleeper as well and it is like pulling teeth in the morning to get him up and out of bed. I usually have to bribe him to get up with a cup of "hot" chocolate - not just a glass of chocolate milk, oh no...it has to be hot! If he could sleep in until 9 in the morning, I think he would. I already think to when he is a teenager and sleeps past noon - oh boy - trouble!

My Basketball Boy!

Kyan is SO into basketball lately! He loves to sport his basketball shoes, with his basketball shorts, and his basketball shirt, and his basketball...ok, ok, you get it! Kyan is quick to tell you that his favorite color is blue and his favorite number is 1! You are sure to be a hit with Kyan if you have any of the above on!

A day full of grandparents!

We got to spend the early afternoon with Chad's dad today over at his house and then later in the afternoon, Chad's mom and dad came over to our house to hang out, eat a little egg-salad sandwich, and visit! We had a day full of grandpa's and grandma! We had so much fun!

"I got a BIG one!!!"

Fishing on the grass...we went to Grandpa B's today and after their squirt gun fight, Kyan spotted the fishing poles in Brion's garage! So Brion taught Kyan how to cast his line and they went fishing in the yard! Kyan caught several "big ones", but he threw them all back! No fish for us for dinner!
