InstaFriday & Two of My Favorite Apps

Ok, so first up, want to start off by stating that there are two iPhone apps that I have been LOVING as of late and they are worth telling you about!  I love collages and have been using them on this blog for a few years, so when I read about Diptic, I knew I needed it!
It is free, but I paid for the upgrade {although I never use, save your money} so that I could move around the edges and create more of a custom collage if I wanted to {think it was $0.99}.  The pictures that you see on here in collages were all done using it!
The other is Labelbox
It adds the cute little labels to the pictures and it is totally free {not true, you can pay $0.99 for upgraded labels, but I haven't yet, I like the free ones better}!  I actually downloaded it last week, but remembered it yesterday?!  And just like that I am addicted and want to put labels on all of my pictures now!

Now let's get down to our week, it was jammed packed!
Friday seemed to have been all about Kyan!  Headed to school in his favorite Pink Mouse Inc. t-shirt and had an ice skating birthday party later that evening.  We turned it into a little mommy/son date!  It was so much fun {and freezing}!  Kyan turned out to be a much better ice skater than me, I held onto the side almost the entire time!  He was out almost as soon as his head hit the pillow!

Saturday morning we headed to Kyan's football game, where he had quite the crowd!  Both sets of grandparents came to watch, along with cousin Mason!  Despite our cheering efforts, Kyan's team lost.

After the game, just the girls headed out for a day together!  It had been planned for quite some time and I am not sure who was more excited to be honest!  It was THE BEST DAY EVER!

Lola had been counting down her sleeps for quite some time until her birthday and the day that she got to get her ears pierced!  Despite me warning her that it was going to hurt, she still did it {if you know Lola, you know she is quite the wuss and can be seen wearing multiple band-aids on a tiny scratch}!  Not Saturday!  She climbed right up on the chair by herself and sat there very cool, calm, and collected...until right at the very end and she heard the noise of the gun piercing her ears {at the same time, otherwise I knew I might have ended up with a one pierce wonder child}!  She grabbed at her ears before the backs of the earrings were on!  Whoops!  That was the only dramatic part, after that, she whimpered a few more times, but has been fine ever since!  She happily lets me clean them and is in LOVE with her sparkly ears!

We got stuck in crazy traffic on the way home and what better to do than have a dance party to Justin Bieber!  I love this picture that I snapped of the two of them shakin' it!  I think we listed to JB over 40 times over the course of the Saturday!  But according to Lola, you can't ever have to much Bieber Fever!

We met up with the boys for dinner, where the kids managed to NOT eat very much for dinner but CRUSHED the Brownie Obsession!

Sunday was Lola's 4th birthday!  We went to church and breakfast, had a mini photo session, and then celebrated with a few close friends and family members at home.  All of the little girls that came over dressed up as princesses!  It was so adorable to see them!  I do have real pictures and plan on doing a real post about her day...sometime soon!

Sunday night, Lola took a turn for the worst and I put in a warning call to my parents that I just might need them to watch her so that I could go to work!  I was lucky that they were so willing, because that call went in about 6:30am!  They even came down the mountain to get her!  Life savers!  Before they went back up the hill, grandpa walked Kyan to school!
It was a battle of the medicine Monday too!  While Afrin is my best friend, I took Lola to the doctor, as I figured she probably had a sinus infection because her cough had been happening really since she had croup, two weeks ago!  Mama was right and they gave her gross medicine once again!  I had Walgreen's flavor it and even put food coloring in it to try and entice Lola!  After two meltdowns, I am happy to say that she is happily taking her medicine with out her head spinning all the way around her body three times in a row!

Also, Monday night, after Auntie Rae's birthday party, Kyan helped me put together handmade Valentine's for himself and Lola!  We got them done just in time for bed!

My Sweethearts!

The kids and I snuck cards into Chad's car Monday night, so he could have a nice surprise before he went to work!  I had beautiful roses delivered to work!  Lola made the sweetest cards for us too!  The kids and I went to the Valentine's Day Dance at school, where Lola and I proceeded to boogie, while Kyan ditched us almost immediately to go run around with his friends {big boy on the loose, first time he didn't stick by my side and while I was sad, I love watching this stepping stone in his life}.

We call, or I should say, I call Wednesdays at school Dress Wednesday {not to hard to figure out, it's Wednesday and you should wear a dress}  I told the students that I teach about it and lots of them have been going strong for two weeksDoesn't mean you can't wear a dress any other day of the week, but Wednesday's for sure, they are special!  I did this with students a few years ago, kinda forgot about it, but now it is back!  Problem was, this past Wednesday it was cooooold!  But I couldn't not wear a dress, that is breaking the rules, so I put on my leggings under my long dress and made it work!   Despite making dress Wednesday work this week, I felt horrible!  I filled the trash can with tissues and even managed to get a bloody nose during my fifth academic {so embarrassing}!  So when I came home, I kicked up my feet, graded papers, and indulged in my reality TV obsession.

Oh yeah, and I took silly pictures with Lola before bed!

Thursday seemed to be all about food!  One of the students in my homeroom brought me chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate chocolate cake pops!  Oh.Em.Gee!  They were sooooo good and such a nice treat.  Chocolate is always welcome, especially after the morning I had!

Then, while I dropped the kids off with grandpa and grandma {they don't have school tomorrow, so they get a fun day with them}, Chad was busy making Stuffed Bell Peppers for dinner!  More deliciousness.  I pinned the recipe a few months ago and this is the second time that we have made them.  The only thing that we change from it is that we use Hot Sausage Links, instead of Sweet.  So excited there is enough to take for lunch tomorrow too!

That is it {I say it like I barely had any pictures this week...pssssshhhh}!  What can I say?  I am an Instagram Addict!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is the first year that I made cards for the kids to pass out to their classmates and I plan on doing so as long as they let me from now on!  It was so much fun!
The kids can't wait to pass them out!

Who knew they could be so easy?!
I took pictures of the kids, uploaded to picnik (waaaaaaahhh!  Yes, I am still upset they are disappearing in April, but discovered - thanks to a reader - in the library that they still have collages, so I am still going to take full advantage until then), made a 4x6 collage with two pictures, added words and sent them to be printed!  Picked them up, sliced them in half (makes them smaller and more affordable), stuffed mustaches (found at Party City) in Kyan's and sealed in envelopes so he could write classmates names on them and taped chocolate hearts to Lola's, she needed to make sure she had 20, but left names off!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Four, going on 14!

Oh Lola, you make my heart so full.  While I struggled with your brother getting too big around this time of age, I welcome you at four...can you just start acting like a four year old instead of a teenager?  That my girl, I am NOT ready for!
You are sassy and sparkly and a whole lotta girly girl rolled up in into one!
You love getting your nails and toes done, just as any girl would, and your hair too!
You can shake it to any song that blasts on the radio, but you give a little bit of extra shake when your boyfriend Justin Bieber comes on the radio!  You do this head bobble thing that no one can compete with!  And your little raspy voice is music to my ears when you sing along!
You are a creature of habit, just like me and eat the same kinda things over and over.
I know I am not the only one whose heart melts when they meet you, you seem to have rainbows and sunshine that follow you wherever it is that you go!

Now that she is four {ok, really I just started this, thought it would be fun to do with her}, I asked her the same questions about her favorite things as I asked Kyan!

Color: Pink
Toy:  Puppy with a leash
Fruit:  Watermelon
TV Show:  Finding Bigfoot
Lunch:  Peanut Butter Sandwich {she eats it every day that she doesn't eat hot lunch}
Outfit:  Rapunzel Dress (Thanks North Carolina Divis' Family}
Game:  Kitchen
Sanck:  Goldfish Crackers - Super Cheesy
Animal:  Horses, Unicorns, and Giraffes
Song:  JUSTIN BIEBER!  {She screamed it as soon as I said the word song}.  I asked her to pick her favorite one and she said "One Last Lonely Girl"
Best Friend:  My Brother {sweet, I know.  She loves him}
Cereal:  Lucky Charms
Outside Play:  Riding my Bike
Drink:  Shirley Temple
Thing to take to bed:  Puppy
Breakfast:  Lucky Charms {She said I already asked her this questions...kind of I guess, but it was the same}.
Sport:  Anything that my brother plays {no sport playing desired}
What do you want to be when you grow up?  A Cheerleader
One thing I want for my birthday?  Ears Pierced {which she got!  We went yesterday}!

Really BIG love you birthday girl!

InstaFriday - OBSESSED!!!

Another edition of InstaFriday!!!

Honestly, do they have a self help group for this app?  I am obsessed {just a little bit} and feel like I am one, taking pictures sometimes of the most random things and two, checking in on the 19 people that I stalk follow {do I follow you?} and feel like a part of their world via pictures for 10 seconds!  If you are wondering why my posts maybe have been a little few and far between these days, Instagram is your answer!

What?  You don't follow us?  Well, you can @jenni_roseland or you can just catch up with us every Friday!  This seems to hold me accountable for all the iPhone pics I seem to be taking these days!

Last Friday was jersey day at school and both Kyan and Lola sported their Cardinals gear!

Friday was a BIG day at our house!  We WAITED...and WAITED...and WAITED for Grandpa and Grandma Nebraska to show up, but in the meantime, we cut some rug in the backyard to pass time.  Lola is obsessed with Justin Bieber and plays his songs over and over and over again!

Ok, I'll be honest.  While we were excited to see Grandpa and Grandma Nebraska, we were really excited for the treat that they brought on the airplane with them - APPLESAUCE DONUTS!!!  I have never had a donut that tasted so good and no where in AZ makes 'em like it and because we don't go to visit as often as we should,  they brought them to us!

The kids love them just as much as I do and we did eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Grandpa has the new iPad2 {I'll make him an Apple user yet} and of course he has all of the fun games downloaded!  The kids were smitten with him and his iPad!

The weeds in my yard have been growing out of control and with a Super Bowl party to prep for, I got busy around 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon to start pulling them.  Even with my parents help, we didn't end up finishing until after 5:30-6 that evening.  My legs are finally not sore.  Yard is being sprayed very soon, I don't wish to ever do that again.

In the midst of pulling weeds, Grandpa rigged the wagon to Kyan's four wheeler so that Grandma could pull Lola around without having to walk around and around the yard!  We both said there was no way that it could work, but we were wrong!  Not sure who ended up having more fun?!

Speaking of the Super Bowl - my kiddos were so excited to have all of their friends come over to watch play with them!  Lola wanted a cheerleader outfit so bad and I did search but came back with a cute skirt and t-shirt instead, as I could not find anything!  She loved it and pretended to be a cheerleader anyway!

My muscle man!
The little boys played football in the backyard for quite some time and some how they all ended up with their shirts off!?

He looked too cute, I had to take a picture with him!

Two of my favorite girls rockin' their stunna shades: my mama and my baby.

Came home from work and these were sitting on the counter from my mama.  They are so pretty and were such a nice surprise.  She doesn't really know how much I love having her here, but I do.  These three weeks are already going too fast and I am dreading the 26th, when she has to go home.  She really is my best friend.

Best friends are always honest and tell you things without hurting you.  My mom is great at this and she ever so nicely informed me that I was dressing a little blah and I couldn't agree more!  Lately,  I have felt like I have forgotten how to put things together and she helped me to see how again...starting with those yellow bad boys!  Every single person at work complimented them.  Thank you mama.

Oh yeah, did I tell you that she cleans closets and organizes everything too?
No, you can't have her, she is all mine!!!!

While cleaning out here closet, Lola read to us.  She made up the most random story of what she though she was reading.  Loved every second of it!

Heather, from Angel Face Designs, tagged me for the first time on Instagram {take a picture of your lock screen}!  Huh?!  Wha?!  How do I this?  Good thing she gives such good directions, I was able to play along and even tagged a few others!

Celebrated Chad's birthday at Ah So!

Then came home and had a dance battle as a family!
SO.MUCH.FUN!
Everyone got in on the action, including my dad.  I had to sneak a picture of him and once he saw what I was up to, yelled at me {some things never change}, so I had to settle for a blurry one!

Saw this posted somewhere in Pinterest land and posted it at school.  It didn't take long for the kids to start pulling what they needed.  Kinda melts my heart a little.  I wish I knew who pulled what and why, but I guess that is kinda the point.  Hoping that a simple word or two helped someone over the last couple of days.

McDonald's Unsweetened Ice Tea
I get it to drink almost every single day.
I LOVE IT probably like most of you love starbucks!

Happy Birthday to You!

Happy Birthday to Chad/Daddy
Happy Birthday to YOU!
Tonight we spent a perfect evening together!  Normally the birthday person in our family picks where they want to eat, however, Chad let the kids pick tonight and they both immediately picked AhSo!  They wanted to see the fire!

Then we came home and sang "happy birthday" and ate a yummy Coldstone Ice Cream Cake and had a dance party!!!!
SO.MUCH.FUN.
Dance Central 2 for the XBox Kinect is addicting.  I have a love/hate relationship with it.  I love to play it and wish I was a good dancer, but I hate it because I always lose.  I hate most when I lose to the birthday boy.  The only people I seem to beat are my kids and Kyan is so close (he is good), I don't know how much longer I can hang on!  I love to watch Lola's face when she dances, she is sooooooo into it!

Happy Birthday Babe!
Really BIG love you!

InstaFriday!!!

Another week full of iPhone pictures and a little sneak peek into our everyday life!

Lola dressed herself for Kyan's football game {that ended up getting cancelled, but we didn't find out until we got to the field at 9:45}!

Prepping our food for our Winter Supper Club with friends!  Want to see what we ate?  Check it out here!

Sunday we headed to Urgent Care - Lola had croup.  Yuck.  And a little message to medicine companies out there, PLEASE, I am BEGGING you to make a medicine that actually tastes good for kids!  I had to get very tricky to get Lola's down her throat!

Sunday didn't end all bad however, the carpet cleaner man came over and hooked my carpets up!

Oreo chowing down on a piece of lettuce!  Love how his little back feet are hanging on too!

Work, work, work, work, work!  I haven't been to bed before 11pm this week because of it and it is killing me!

A little peek inside my classroom at 6pm!  This was part of my poor pitiful me party I was throwing myself earlier this week, but I think I am over it!

Fletcher just watches Oreo...he is so worried about what is going on in her cage.  And I think he wants to eat her.   See those two cubby spaces?  Fletcher has even been spotted in the middle of one, in attempt to get closer!

Got my Jersey Shore on!!!  I LOVE me a good spray tan!

Me!   All of my pictures are of things other than me...so I had Kyan snap one super fast last night!
Forget dinner, drink a smoothie!  Strawberry ones are my favorite!

Can't wait until Friday to see what we have been up to?  You can find me @jenni_roseland on instagram!  Don't have it yet, get it!  So much fun!!!
