Just Because

Tonight, when Kyan and I got home from TKD, Lola came barreling out of the house to welcome us home (something she normally does). Only this time she was hollering "Happy Birthday mommy! We made you a cake! Happy Birthday, come inside!" She said this over and over! I was very confused, it is not my birthday, but she was very convincing, so Kyan and I rushed inside to see what the fuss was all about! Sure enough, Lola and Chad had made a cake (red velvet with cream cheese frosting) just because! She associated the cake with a birthday and went with it I guess! I thanked her again and again, she was too excited to break the news that it really wasn't my birthday! Instead, I enjoyed her and daddy's delicious cake!

I love things when they are "just because"! Made me feel special for sure!

You had me at CREAM CHEESE FROSTING!! They did such a sweet thing for you (pun intended!)

Camden thinks ANY & EVERY cake is a Birthday cake too. Whenever we bring her to any party, right away she starts talkin' about "Birrrttday cake!" Silly girls.

Soooo cute!!! Red Velvet is my fave!!! My kids associated a cake or cupcakes with birthdays too. Ultra excitement in a box. Doesn't take much to thrill a little one. :) I wish it was that easy now. Isn't it fun when they start singing "Happy Birthday To You..." Even better is when they get to sing it to themselves on their own birthday. Best home videos ever.

Did you save me a piece sista? Lola just didn't want to leave my house. Only to make her mama a cake. I'm glad Chad kept his word :)
