Our Christmas Tree

On Saturday night we headed out to find the perfect Christmas tree! This is a fun family tradition, as daddy insists on having a real tree, and it was awesome to see how excited the kids got over trying to find "the one"!

After picking our tree, we hopped in the truck and drove through the Arizona Celebration of Lights! It was an unexpected detour, one we didn't plan for, but a wonderful surprise! We listened to Christmas music and ooooh'd and aaaah'd at the beautiful lights!

We had the truck (to get the tree obviously), which has a moon roof, so the kids enjoyed much of the show just like this, standing on the middle console with their heads poking out the top (in fact, Kyan rode the entire way like this)!

We got home pretty late, so we just set the tree up in the water and decorated it this morning when we woke up! The kids were so excited to help!

And here is our finished tree, both day and night views! We love it and it smells so good!
The countdown is on to Christmas now! Just need to start adding the presents underneath! I have been doing lots of online shopping and trying to support my favorite etsy shops! I have also done lots of ordering from Amazon.com, I love them ! No tax and because I am a prime member, I get free 2 day shipping!

So how about you... real or fake tree at your house?

We are fake! HAHA! I don't know. Maybe one year we will go real. The new family photo looks great. Loving to see you spending quality family time. Maybe we can get the two families together one day!

I love my fake tree, this allows me to leave it up late or put it up early:) hehehe.

I do miss the beautiful smell of the real trees though there is nothing like it! Beautiful tree!

That light tour was the perfect accidental discovery! There's a similar 1 at a church near our house that we've wanted to visit. Love the shots of the kiddos pokin' their heads out of the sun roof!

Creels have an artificial tree, but it looks so real, it's crazy (& less MESS for us!) I did, however, have to get a REAL wreath this year from Costco, & every time I walk into our house, that beautiful pine smell makes me smile BIG.

Totally relate on the love for Amazon! Got Michael & Ash's gifts there this year, & they are GOOD ones!

That first picture of Lola CRACKS me up. SHe is like "WOWZERS". And when did Kyan get so BIG. He looks like a mini man.

Your tree is beautiful. I role on the fake side. You know me and a mess, I would go crazy. To add the pine smell, candles and a real wreath work perfect for me.

Love the kiddos poking out of the sun roof. How much fun was that?!

I have you on my blog reader and have been following you for a while, I must have come across your blog from somewhere, but I cant remember how! :) (that totally sounds stalker-ish!) anywhoo, I just realized you live in Arizona and my husband just got into Midwestern U, for dental school in Glendale! We may be neighbors next summer. :) Have any good suggestions as to where to live around there?

P.S.
We totally have a fake tree, i cant take my kids getting into all the needles and tracking them all over the house! :) But I do love the smell of a real tree. I was excited to see that they actually had real pine trees in Az, I thought for sure they would be selling palm trees to decorate! :)
