Kyan Update!

Kyan had his 4 year check up yesterday, and it was traumatic! It is so much easier getting shots when he couldn't really fight back! Kyan, fought back. Chad had to hold down his legs, I had to hold his arms down and pry his one arm off of his shoulder to let the nurse actually give him the shots - and not just one shot, four shots! It was horrible, I felt like a bad mom, and I was embarrassed that Kyan was going so crazy. It all started when he got a shot in his bootie when he had pneumonia. From then on, his has been deathly afraid.
But despite the shots, the appointment went great. Kyan had a vision and hearing screening and checked out everywhere else just fine! He was in about the 75 percentile for both height and weight! 42 and 1/4 inches tall and he weighed 40 lbs! He is now all ready for preschool!
I made him fudge (and my mom too, as a thank you for helping out this weekend!) and that is him licking the spoon and loving it!

JayLo together again!!!

JayLo in their birthday party hats for their Auntie Chrissy Swisher! She turned 30 last weekend and celebrated this Sunday!!! Happy Birthday Chrissy! Frank's youngest son Aiden referred to JayLo as "the twins" all day long! They share the same birthday, so they could very well play this off one day!

What you don't see in this picture is either Uncle Jearel or Auntie Susie behind me making a fool of themselves to try and get a picture of the two girls smiling at the same time, even looking at the camera at the same time!
I am pretty sure that this is after Auntie Susie gave back Lola's piggy that Jayla stole. Seems they swap their animals out when they see each other, they want what the other one has! Jay has Miss Kitty and Lola has her piggy!

I love this picture of the two of them - one only wonders what they talk about!

I love getting these two girls together and it is fun to watch them grow up with one another. It is so fun to have a friend that has a baby that is the exact same age as your baby! Ok, Susie and I were lucky that they were both born on the same day - but even having a friend with a baby that is almost the same age as your little one is fun! With Kyan, I was the first of all of our friends to have a baby, and no one was even thinking kids then. So now, I treasure our moments together with Jayla! See you this week hopefully Jay and Sue for more JayLo time!

Top 5 Reasons that I am SO HAPPY!

1. My mom spent the weekend with me! Not only did we shop, she cleaned my house like there was no tomorrow! She even did the laundry! If any of you know my mom, she spoils me like this almost every time she is down here! We talked about her flying out once a month just to help out! She says she loves to clean - I think she is crazy! My dad is in town too, golfing with his buddies, so I have had my mom all to myself almost the entire time she has been here! That means extra spoiling! Thank you so much mom for all that you do for me! I loved having you here this weekend and I can't wait until you are back! Ok - so that is like three reasons in one - mom, clean house, and shopping!

2. I got a date with my husband! Both grandma and grandpa watched the kids for us on Saturday night so that Chad and I could go to dinner and a movie! Since I picked Twilight (did I mention that I hated that movie), it was Chad's turn! We had dinner at McGrath's and went to watch The Watchmen. It was a good movie, but I would have said NO to seeing it had I know it was 3 hours long! I hate movie theatres! Chad was just excited to see an adult movie in its second week out of the box office! Again, thank you mom and dad for giving us kid free time!

3. My school yearbook is done and submitted! That thing was making me a crazy lady and I was functioning on very little sleep the past week, so thank God it is over and done with - hopefully nothing is wrong that will make me have to go back and look at it! I will sleep good tonight!

4. Did I mention that my house is clean, including the garage and my laundry is done?!

5. I am on Spring Break from school for the week! I think that it is more for the teacher than it is the student!

Biggest Loser for the 3rd week in a row!

Our Biggest Loser contest is about to end, only one more week to go! I am once again the biggest loser! Down 27 lbs as of this morning! I feel great and my second goal of this contest has already been reached and I have more clothes out of my "bin" than in! (wasn't planning on getting there until summer!) So I am extremely proud of my progress!

Dinner with Dad!

Seems like every time my parents come around, my camera isn't, so I made sure that the old Nikon went with me to dinner tonight! We tried a new place - BJ's Brewhouse - (my dad is more of a creature of habit than I am, so this was a plus! He was very concerned and wanted to make sure that I could eat somewhere and be able to make a good choice! How sweet!) The food was delicious, I recommend the Balsamic Chicken to anyone who goes there! AMAZING! The pictures were a few shots of us hanging out before dinner!

Walking?!

Not quite yet, but it is coming sooner than I think! Lola shocked me today by taking three steps after she stood up on her own. That is not new, she will stand up and stay up as long as she can, then fall on her little bootie and giggle! It is really cute!
She did the three step thing twice in a row, I tried for a third and she sat on the ground and started to cry. Not trying to push the walking thing, but this was her first attempt to take her steps on her own without holding onto the furniture! Yay Lola!!!

A tattoo for Lola

Chad went to get his tattoo for Lola today. It is a raven with a ribbon in its mouth hooked onto an anchor. Lola is short for Delores, Delores means "sorrow" - hence the raven, the pink ribbon with the anchor is for family and Lola being the last one of us to make our little Roseland family complete! I love it!

Kyan also had to get tattoos everywhere that his daddy has them, so before Chad went today to get his ink, we had to stick Kyan's on! Here are his!
