After the rain stopped today - my kids went out to play...IN THE MUD! Kyan asked if he could get dirty, I figured why not? As soon as Lola saw that her brother was headed for fun, she wanted in on the action! While she did not get as dirty as he did, off to the bathtub she went after a major fit. Why a fit you ask? I took Piggy away from her as she was trying to drag it in the mud with her (plus she was incredibly tired and was overdue for a nap). Kyan had about 30 more minutes of fun by himself before I made him strip down outside! I had to carry him to the bathtub, as mud was all over his feet! Kyan was so dirty he had to have two rounds of bath! One just to get the mud off and another to get clean! Mess and all, it was worth all the cleaning up that followed, just to see how much fun they were having on their faces! Plus, it is not every day that one gets to play in the mud!

You can never have too many!
Stuffed animals that is! Kyan and Lola love them some stuffed animals - Kyan more so than Lola, but, he is rubbing off on her for sure! Kyan, little stinker that he is, decided that some (can't believe they have more than what is pictured) needed to come downstairs to play in the boxes that Chad cleaned! I kept telling him that what he had downstairs was enough - he kept sneaking more in despite my efforts of telling him NO MORE! They played in their boxes with their animals for a good half and hour! Kyan made sure that his sister was well taken care of and had plenty of animals of her own!

"I wanna make a boy necklace!"
These were Kyan's exact words! I am sure you have been noticing all of Lola's pretty jewelry and so has Kyan! Well, he has been asking me if we can make him a boy necklace for quite some time, so today, after school we went to Joann's and he got to pick out stuff for his "boy" necklace! He is just like his mama and had so many ideas spinning through his little head, that we walked out of the store spending entirely too much money, but also gots lots of smiles! he wanted to do so many things, so we had to limit it to one necklace a night! He chose to make his turtle necklace first and then to work on one for his sister! Here are his creations!
Mommy Shoes!
Lola loves shoes - just wanted to show her off wearing some of my heels! She always asks me to wear my shoes when she hears and notices the noises they make on the floor! Many a fits have been thrown because I don't take them off (like when we are getting ready to walk out the door in the morning!) She did manage to snag these when I got home from my forever long day yesterday!
What my uncle Bill has been waiting for...
...apparently for years?! Who knew? I guess everyone but me! My auntie Jan taught me how to make her homemade spaghetti sauce and meatballs about 4 years ago and I have been making them ever since - just never for my aunt and uncle? How could this be? I really have no clue?! I don't make it very often, as it is such a tedious process, but when I do, I guess I don't ever ask them to come over to try it! Maybe, because I am secretly nervous that it won't ever be as good as hers (even though I do think I do a pretty good job capturing all of the flavors).
Well, Sunday night, we had my dad and his golf buddies over for dinner! My uncle happen to be one of the buddies this time around - so he was able to enjoy the food! FINALLY! My aunt Jan came along for the ride and was the true test to how good it really was! They both loved it and I couldn't have been more proud! It is one thing to cook for people that don't have too much of an expectation, but with them it was different for me!
My dad and his friends also loved the food and thanked me over and over for such a nice treat! I even sent them home with some homemade chocolate chip cookies (Kyan and I baked for hours on Sunday - think we made about 9 dozen cookies, which sounds like a lot, but for 8 guys, was nothing!) Sad to say, but only a few are left at home, and those disappear just as fast!
Here are a few pictures of everyone enjoying the food!

Kyan devoured his meatballs (think he ate like 5)! Notice he left the noodles alone, something he usually gobbles up!

Yummy!
Slaved away in the kitchen tonight and had help from Kyan - boy does he love to help cook! Thinking I might have a chef in the making on my hands! My dad asked if I would cook for his golfing buddies (8 of them!) that are in town! I made a deal that I would make it for tomorrow, but not tonight! I wanted tonight to make it and let it set for the evening, homemade spaghetti sauce and meatballs are so much better the second day! We have to make our special chocolate chip cookies in the morning, as we ran out of time tonight! Those are a must as well!

So Kyan and I had a blast, think you can tell by the look on his face! He can't wait to see his buddies (he loves my dad's friends and they are so good to him, that he refers to them as his buddies too) tomorrow!
