Easter Sunday Morning

Our attempt at a family photo today - NOT working, everyone was staring into the sun.

My parents with Kyan and Lola

We went to church this morning with my parents and then went to Breakfast at Mimi's Cafe - so yummy!

Easter Saturday at Auntie Rae's

Because it was raining-the kids had to hunt for Easter eggs in Auntie Rae Lynn's house! Inside, outside, they didn't care where they were at, they just cared that there was candy inside!!! Even Lola found the goods!

Kyan's reaction to a whoopie cushion that he "snuck" under Grandpa Michael's chair after he sat on it (and broke it - HA!)

Lola happy as can be above and mad as ever at the group photo's below! Oh well, can't win them all!

The joy of M&M's...gross!

Order Up

There is a blog that I check called perch that always has the cutest things, happened to be on it today and saw these:

I had to have them for Lola! I want to order all of the shoes that this lady makes, but wasn't sure how they would fit her since she has Fred Flinstone feet! So I ordered just one pair for now and if they fit, I will be ordering every pair that they have! If they don't fit - I have lots of friends with girls and they will make a great gift!

For a look at all of the shoes click here!

Spending all our time with Grandpa B

We haven't disappeared, just been spending all of our free time with Chad's dad. Many of you know he has had cancer for several years now, what many of you don't know is that is it getting the best of him. I haven't really blogged about it because Brion used to check this blog faithfully, however, it takes all of his energy to get through the pain these days. Chad has recently become Brion's primary caregiver and has spent every single hour with him since Thursday. Kyan is with him and refuses to leave his dad and Grandpa B's side, even if it is to just run to the store to grab something quick. Lola and I have been commuting back and forth after school and spent the weekend with all three of our boys. It is very hard to leave each night, last night I ran home to drop off a few things, then turned right back around and we were able to spend the night. Back again tomorrow to do the same thing.

I captured a few family moments this weekend that I thought were very sweet.

Grandpa B's bedroom turned into the perfect spot for a movie. On the big screen: Bolt. Lola was right in the mix of it all and couldn't take her eyes off the TV. She would laugh whenever she heard Kyan or her daddy do the same.

Kyan has been amazing through these tough times and when I went to Target earlier that day I brought home a few surprises. A movie, some Reeses Peices, Popcorn, and his favorite cookies! Grandpa B's room turned into a makeshift movie theature. He was great about sharing his candy at first, but as you can see, Lola was after his food even when he wasn't looking!

Crashed out last night. My little angels. They were cuddled right up to one another. Lola ended up sleeping in her playpen for only a few hours, she woke up screaming at about 4am and Kyan woke up and tried to calm her down. Did the trick eventually, because she fell back asleep right by him. He was not phased for a second by her screaming, another way that he amazes me every day.

Lola's First WALKING Injury

Lola's walking skills are improving every single day and she is really getting good at it - but with those skills comes injury! She was walking all over our bedroom (all by herself I might add) and was walking to the toy you see above. Right before she got to the toy, she stumbled over her little feet and knocked her forehead right on the top edge of the toy. She has a big goose egg in between her eyes! She cried for three seconds and was fine! The picture below is of her this morning after the fact, but her goose egg is still there!

This wasn't of her injury, but thought it was a cute picture of her. She was so crabby this morning (not because I put the boy in her hair either). She just kept saying "Owwwie, Owwwie" over and over. I was on the phone with my dad and had to get off with him because he couldn't take listening to her. She was also up at 4:30 this morning, so maybe she was just extra tired! Who know, but hopefully I get to pick up a happy baby after school today!

Our Day at the Zoo

Yesterday we had a much needed family day! Life has been so stressful that we decided to take a break from it all and head to the zoo! Instantly after we got to the zoo, my kids befriended the local ducks at the entrance. Lola squealed when it was time to leave them, this seemed to happen at every animal we visited!

Kyan fed the ducks at close range!

Lola was amazed at everything she saw!

Daddy and Kyan walking and talking about the animals! Kyan was all about his dad yesterday!

Checking out swans

Lola and the monkey were so into each other! Don't know who was enjoying themselves more?

Wildlife World Zoo is known for its White Tigers, but they are usually not out and about, at least not every time we have visited. Yesterday, a turtle got out of its habitat and was roaming around on the walkway in front of the tigers habitat, the tigers were pacing back and forth and were after that turtle. Someone (another zoo visitor) put the turtle back on the other side of its fence, so that the tigers would settle down. It was neat to see them in action!

Lola and daddy! Both of my kids ended up on daddy's shoulders at one point or another during the morning!

Sleepy time

Lola checking out the flamingos - Kyan was curious to know how they could just stand there forever on one leg. He even tried to stand like them, and lasted about 10 seconds before he gave up!

Mommy and Lola by rhino - he was huge!

Kyan took his first skyride with his daddy! He wasn't scared for even a second and enjoyed every bit of seeing the animals from up high! He ran to me when they got off the ride and gave me a huge hug in excitement and proceeded to tell me all about what they saw.

Feeding the giraffes. This is the coolest thing that I have ever been apart of! Last time we went, Kyan was to afraid to feed them, but another year older brings on lots more bravery! Lola just watched, we learned not to give her food from the feeding the ducks. She just held onto it and wouldn't give it up - but she was giggling when the giraffe stuck out his tongue at Kyan waiting for incoming food!

There were two baby giraffes at the park - this one was so cute, he wasn't tall enough to get fed by people, but his little head was resting on the posts, just longing for attention. It was so sweet.

The loves of my life - not sure what they were checking out?!

The zoo has a new addition that just opened up - their aquarium! It was really cool and HUGE! It was set up really neat and had several spots that allowed kids (and adults) to pet certain sea creatures and even feed the rays! Kyan was not really sure about all of it, but was willing to touch some of the animals. He wanted to feed the rays, but once he found out they have to suck the food from between your fingers, he tapped out!

Lola was all about getting her hands dirty and touching the animals!

Our last stop was the petting zoo. There were several animals that attacked you at the door for food, so we avoided those and went to the more chill animals just laying around!

This was Kyan's favorite little guy in the petting zoo!
