New shoes for Lola

So, I love the shoes I got from an etsy boutique not too long ago, and because of recent publicity, she is no longer doing custom orders and rarely has Fred Flinstone sizes available - I did a little research and found another etsy boutique that has just as cute of shoes with her size available! Check out GraciousMay on etsy - have a link in my Misc. Fun Sites section of my blog! You will fall in love too! Can't wait to get these in, hopefully they will be here in time for California!

A Day to Remember

Today marks a very special day - not only is it memorial day, but it was also Brion's birthday. We visited his grave this morning at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. It was absolutely beautiful today out there. Flags were on each and every grave, over 4,000 people were there when we were, and it was really neat and touching to see all the Harley's on the side of the road and their owners with signs that were thanking the vets and their families for serving our country. It was extremely emotional and I cried several times before I even got to his grave.

Kyan and I sang "Happy Birthday" to Grandpa B and then we talked about all of the things that grandpa loved and things that made him so happy! We also told him how much we loved him and that we knew he was watching over us and protecting us.

We love you Brion and miss you very much! Happy Birthday!

Two Random Thoughts

One - so excited that the new season of So You Think You Can Dance is on tonight! I am obsessed with this show and I so wish I could dance! Chad bought live tickets to the show last year for my birthday and it was incredible and I will be buying tickets the second that they go on sale this year! If anyone wants to go - here is your open invitation!

Two - I realized that I am a Mac snob. We have to check in our computers over the summer at school, so I am left at night without my laptop. As most of you know - the two boys in this household hog the computer at night and there is no hope for me to sneak on. So I am left using the old PC laptop and I hate it! I have been debating on getting my own MacBook and this just might be the push I needed!

I'm Still Alive!

It is promotion week and having long days that seem to go into long nights! Today the kids graduate and tomorrow the rest of my yearbooks go out and then I am back to normal! Will be posting lots of family stuff very soon, as my sister-in-law is returning from her mission from Paraguay tomorrow morning and my family comes to town for a few weeks! Even Joel and Erin and the kids will be here for a few days! Watch out summer - here we come!

When I grow up...

...I want to be three things:
1. a knight
2. a race car driver
3. an artist!

This is what Kyan told me he wanted to tonight when he grows up. He was so serious when he said it! It was precious!

New Shoes!

Got my new shoes in the mail today! Must say that I am not a fan of ordering shoes online, however these were an exception. I love Steve Madden shoes and they are expensive, BUT, if you sign up on their website they send you promotion emails and I got these shoes for $20 less than they sell for in stores! Happy shoe shopping!

To be a mommy...

Today was a very special day! My morning started out waking up to Lola by my side (wasn't feeling so hot last night so I had her sleep with me) and Kyan telling daddy to wake up (boys had a slumber party on the sectional) because the sun is up! No, he wasn't up with the birds, but if he wakes up and the sun is a shining, then everyone needs to get up with him! Daddy was on the couch so he was Kyan's first target! Lola and I went out to see what all the fuss was about and waiting for me was my mother's day present to open - LIPS for XBox 360. If you know anything about me right now, then you know that I am obsessed with RockBand and beg everyone to play it at the house - I even have to make bribes! Well, Chad and Kyan must have got sick of me begging and pleading and got me my own Karaoke game! Even has a little Chris Brown on there (despite everything that happened, I still love his songs)!

So we played a little bit before we headed off to Chad's mom's house, where we got an hour to talk to his sister Kristen, who is serving on her mission in Paraguay. This talk was exciting because she actually comes home in 12 days!

Then it was off to pick up my mom and spend a little bit of time with her before she headed back home! She came on another quick visit - for mother's day, but also to check out the new house she and my dad bought out at Estrella! We shopped around the Biltmore and shared some ice cream and had a nice visit!

I love being a mom - my kids are the best and I am blessed to have them in my life! I love you Kyan and Lola!
