Today marks a very special day - not only is it memorial day, but it was also Brion's birthday. We visited his grave this morning at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. It was absolutely beautiful today out there. Flags were on each and every grave, over 4,000 people were there when we were, and it was really neat and touching to see all the Harley's on the side of the road and their owners with signs that were thanking the vets and their families for serving our country. It was extremely emotional and I cried several times before I even got to his grave.
Kyan and I sang "Happy Birthday" to Grandpa B and then we talked about all of the things that grandpa loved and things that made him so happy! We also told him how much we loved him and that we knew he was watching over us and protecting us.
We love you Brion and miss you very much! Happy Birthday!

Thank you so much for sharing that Jenni. Brion was such a special person and we all really miss him.
You captured some really great photos- and that is so awesome they do that on Memorial Day! Happy Birthday to Brion too. Anytime you visit him- we're just down the street & you're welcome over whenever you'd like!
We almost stopped by - however, my parents bbq started at 10:30 and we were in a time crunch! Next time, we need to get together soon anyway!
You captured some AMAZING pictures. I told you my mom and dad use to drive us out there on memorial days to pay our tribute to those who risk their lives for us. It was always an emotional day, but now double whammy!! Ironic that it fell on Brion's birthday. I think that made it extra special for you guys.
I cried when I read that you and Kyan sang him Happy Birthday, and then I cried again when I showed it to Jearel(he cried too).
We love and miss Brion so much. Still wish there was something we could do to take away your pain from his loss.
