My Work!

My girlfriend from school asked if I would take her family photos this year and I must say that I was beyond thrilled! I was also incredibly nervous - I wanted to make sure that they were perfect and exactly what she wanted.

This being said, everyone has their own style when taking pictures and editing photos and if you know me, you know that I love the old, vintage look. When it came time to edit the pictures, I couldn't help but lean towards that, I tried to do them in more vibrant of colors, but only chose a few to do this with. A great photographer (Rae Lynn, yes my dear, I really believe this) once told me that people pick you because they see what you do and they obviously like it or they wouldn't have chosen you to take their pictures! So I am going to go with that! I have to stop being so nervous and self conscious of what I do, I need to just put myself out there and dive in head first! My dream one day, hopefully sooner than later, is to be a full time photographer! I have absolutely no idea where I would even begin (maybe by charging people - HA!), but that I will get there!

Here are some of my favorites from last night (to see the picture much bigger, double click):

What a beautiful family huh? Thanks Casillas family for given me the opportunity to add to my portfolio!

You did a really good job on Mrs. Casillas family pictures! I was thinking of getting into photography too! im taking a digital photography class this semester. Right now we're just learning the basic things about your camera. What kind of photoshop do you use?

I've thought about doing photography and that's as far as I've got! Haha.
I think it would be a fun hobbie!

Love the feet pic and the tunnel one! Very unique!

They are such a cute family!! You did an awesome job as always- have NO idea why you don't have more confidence. The great part about your photography is, you're actually good at capturing the moment- so it makes your editing much easier!
Awesome job and hope you continue doing this since you love it so much...

I agree with Laken. I love the feet picture and the tunnel. Your little added texts to the pictures was perfect.

Do you print the pictures in different sizes and stuff? Because my family needs new pictures. If you need more pictures for the portfolio;)

You know...the more I think about it- you should just go ahead & quit your job, and I'll be 1 of many PR people for you!
I have a whole LIST of events that have already passed this year, you could have done.
You know Michael would create your entire corporate identity/website too.
DO IT!! haaa

Ok - how much do I have to pay your husband to come up with some sort of Logo?

Hmmm...can he just think of a name for me?! I have no clue what I would even call me?!

HA! Thanks for the support friend, bet I would have to start off part time and then eventually be able to quit my job once I got good?

Whatcha think?
